Dr. Ilan Medad, MD, FRCPC

Physician Director, Endoscopy + Gastroenterology, Humber River Health

Born and raised in Toronto and reportedly professing a desire to be a physician since childhood visits to paediatrician, Dr. Ilan Medad obtained his BA in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario.  This enabled him to simultaneously complete science prerequisites while facilitating broader study in both Psychology and Art History.  Having obtained his MD from U of T (class of 2000), where he pursued his residency in Internal Medicine as well, he was fortunate to discover passion for GI early on and to complete his subspecialty training in Toronto.   Upon graduating, he began his career at Humber River Hospital.   He has collaborated as Physician Director of Endoscopy and Gastroenterology for over a decade and has a busy community practice in GI, Hepatology and Endoscopy.  He has two lovely daughters, both studying science at university.   Ilan loves travel, playing tennis and baseball, photography, and gardening, and is an avid chef and eater!
